Dr. Joshua Kulseth is excited to be joining the Franciscan faculty, having recently worked as a lecturer at Clemson University. He earned his B.A. in English from Clemson University, his M.F.A. in poetry from Hunter College, and his Ph.D. in poetry from Texas Tech University.
He is a poet, and his work has been published widely in journals like Tar River Poetry, The Emerson Review, The Worcester Review, Rappahannock Review, and The Windhover. His first book of poems, Leaving Troy, is currently under contract with Finishing Line Press. His two other books, both co-authored works of criticism, are Agony: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and the Ancient Greeks, and W.H. Auden at Work: The Craft of Revision. His areas of research interest are Anglo-Irish Poetry, Classical Studies, Greco-Roman and Napoleonic History, as well as Creative Writing.
Aside from teaching and research, Dr. Kulseth enjoys spending time with his wife, Emily, and their Great Dane, Hamlet. He also enjoys weight lifting and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
