Troy Donovan is currently a broadcast associate for Judicial Watch, in Washington, D.C. Troy produces, directs, edits, and designs video, audio, and graphical content that reaches over 9.5 million social media followers.
Troy says “the many hands-on opportunities” he received as a student in the Communication Arts Department proved invaluable upon graduation. He learned how to work with video and audio software programs such as Avid and ProTools and how to operate a TASCAM DM-4800 audio board. In addition, he learned the importance of scriptwriting and how to analyze video and audio with a critical eye and ear. He also worked as a production assistant on EWTN’s Franciscan University Presents, which is produced by Franciscan University, and filmed an interview with actor Jim Caviezel when he visited campus. He also co-hosted a weekly radio show on Franciscan Effect WFRS-CC 88.3FM and was involved with the Franciscan Film Society.
“The Communication Arts Department always emphasized it is our job in the media to report the capital T ‘Truth.’ I believe my role in the media field is to convey exactly that. I am blessed by the experiences Franciscan gave me. They have shaped me not only professionally, but made me a stronger Catholic as well.”
